　In the text, it describes bonbon boy as the person who has rich background and is dependent on their parents in terms of economical power. However, in my image, bonbon is old-fashioned word. Moreover, in the text, one man who is described as a bonbon boy wears some eccentric clothes. In my image, bonbon boy do not tend to wear unusual clothes. They are likely to wear what their parents recommended. Furthermore, this article also describes that bonbon boy usually live with their parents, but they spend a lot of time with their friends outside. These ideas are far from my image. In my image, bonbon boy is likely to stay in house and is obedient to their family. Therefore, there are some wrong or old-fashioned descriptions in this article.

In Japan, the number of marriage decreased constantly. There are some reasons for reduction of marriage. At first, increasing the number of women who work outside is a big factor of reduction of marriage. Working women tend to have marriage later than women who do not work outside. Secondly, the government policy is not enough for working women. For example, maternity leave system does not work effectively, and there are not many companies which adopt the care for pregnant workers. The number of divorce couples increased dramatically in Japan. However, compared with other countries, such as America and The United Kingdom the rate of divorce in Japan is not so high. In a Japanese traditional way of thinking, divorce was recognized as bad and　disreputable thing. Although the way of thinking has been changed dramatically, it is hard to change Japanese people’s bias in some decades. This is the one of factors that Japanese divorce rate is lower than the other countries rate.

It is not unnatural for Japanese junior high and high school students to have girl or boy friend and going date with their girl or boy friend is also common. Although I do not know much about the way of dating in US, I think there are many differences between Japan and United States in terms of the way of dating. Therefore, I would like to explain dating in Japan. In Japan, high school students tend to have girl or boy friend who is the same high school student. Though it depends on the situation in high school, making girl or boy friend in the school is easier than making in other schools, because there are few chances to have contact with other schools. Accordingly, going or leaving school with their girl or boy friend is the most common way of dating for high school students. On the other hand, the way of dating for university students is completely different from the way of high school student’s one. At first, it is hard for university students to go or leave with, because each student has different class schedules. Furthermore, university students are more independent than high school students in terms of economic strength and social responsibility. Therefore, it is common for university students to go to amusement park, such as Disney Land and Disney Sea, and having lunch and dinner with their girl or boy friend. Although there are some differences between university students and high school students about dating, it is an essential for dating to have enjoyable time with their girl or boy friend .

Groups in Japan (Essay Assignment)

アメリカの学校内でのグループについて書かれたこの記事を読んで、日本の学校内のグループとの類似点と相違点があることを感じました。まず類似点についてですが、日本にもアメリカ同様クラス内にグループがあり、いくつかのグループは日本のグループと酷似していると思いました。
しかし、相違点のほうが明らかに多いと思います。まずグループの概念です。この記事によると、アメリカのクラス内ではグループとグループは明瞭に分けられていて、alternativesといわれるタイプの生徒だけがさまざまなグループを行き来していて、他の生徒は自分のグループにしか顔を出さないと記されていますが、これは明らかに日本のグループと違うところだと思います。確かに、日本のクラスにもグループはありますが、アメリカのグループと違い、もっと漠然としたものであり、普段はっきり意識するものではなかったと思います。だからアメリカに比べてグループ内での結束は弱く、いわゆる複数のグループに属しているalternativesが多くて、逆にグループ内の人としか会話をしないという人はほぼいなかったと思います。
次にグループ間の上下関係です。アメリカではアメリカンフットボールの選手やチアリーダーなどのステータスが高いと書かれていました。また一緒にランチを食べる相手のステータスの高さを非常に気にかけるとも書いてありました。私が行っていた高校は男子校だったので他の人の意見とは多少の違いがあると思いますが、日本ではこのようなことはあまり無かったと思います。例えば、野球やサッカーなどの運動系で、しかも強い部活に所属していた生徒は周りから一目おかれてはいましたが、だからといってステータスが高いというわけではありませんでした。
またグループのでき方にもおおきな相違点があると思います。アメリカではファッションや音楽の好みによってグループができたり、ステータスを誇示したりするということが書いてありましたが、日本でのグループの出来方はもっと多様であると思います。例えば、住んでいる場所であったり、見ているテレビ番組であったり、また高校3年生になると行っている予備校が同じというグループもありました。そして日本にはグループができるには多様な形があるため、一人の生徒が多くのグループに属しているのが普通であり、ゆえに一つ一つのグループの結束がアメリカのグループに比べ弱いのだと思います。

Hello!! My name is Ryuhei. I am a first year student at Waseda university.

I live in Fujisawa-city, Kanagawa prefecture. Fujisawa-city is quite far from Waseda university,

therefore, it takes almost 2 hours to go to Waseda university.

My hobby is listening to music, playing the guitar and watching sports.

Especially, I like watching American football games, because I belonged to Touch Foot Ball club

when I was a high school student.

I have been to Australia for 3 weeks. However, I have never been to America.

Therefore, I do not know much about american culture and life-style.

I will try to do my best to learn about america.

神奈川県の藤沢市に住んでいるのですが、大学からすげー遠いので通うのに片道2時間くらいかかり

ます。

趣味は音楽を聴いたり、ギターを弾いたり、スポーツを観ることです。

特に、高校のときにタッチフットボールをやっていたのでアメフトの試合を観るのが好きです。

海外経験は、オーストラリアには３週間近く行っていたことがあるのですが、

アメリカには行ったことがないので、

アメリカの文化や生活様式について知らないことが多くあると思います。

なのでこの授業を利用してアメリカに関して多くのことを学びたいです。
