In Japan, the number of marriage decreased constantly. There are some reasons for reduction of marriage. At first, increasing the number of women who work outside is a big factor of reduction of marriage. Working women tend to have marriage later than women who do not work outside. Secondly, the government policy is not enough for working women. For example, maternity leave system does not work effectively, and there are not many companies which adopt the care for pregnant workers. The number of divorce couples increased dramatically in Japan. However, compared with other countries, such as America and The United Kingdom the rate of divorce in Japan is not so high. In a Japanese traditional way of thinking, divorce was recognized as bad and　disreputable thing. Although the way of thinking has been changed dramatically, it is hard to change Japanese people’s bias in some decades. This is the one of factors that Japanese divorce rate is lower than the other countries rate.
